6’3, up from 255 to 275-280 pounds. 3.5 GPA. Unoffered but suffered a serious knee injury back in October that required surgery. I didn’t drop Lynch despite the weight gain and knee surgery partly because I know there is a Division One prospect underneath the surface. We might have to face reality and hope for D2 teams to pull the trigger on the standout defensive lineman after seeing his first-three tape on Hudl. I find it likely a PSAC program will find Takiyah Laynch’s potential worthy of a scholarship offer, time will tell. The window to play TE at the next level has likely closed, yet a window for OL might have opened in its place. 6’3, 280, Lynch’s going to primary at IDL, he’s the first defensive starter mentioned in this preview thus far. Here’s to hoping we see the best version of Lynch now that he’s a senior, his voice in the defensive huddle will be the loudest it’s ever been.

“Consistently aligns as an A-B gap interior defender for Coatesville, yet looking at his build and measurables, I can’t help but think about his potential rushing off the edge. Lynch’s athletic profile, particularly how it develops moving forward, is crucial to where he projects to the next level. If Lynch stays his current weight, keeping him inside the defensive front makes sense. If the young man trims down just a tad, I could see his skill set transition well if moved to DE/EDGE. Either way, this is a great “problem” to have moving forward. I wouldn’t call it a problem at all. Expecting a monster season out of this young man”.
