, he seems willing to take a big hit in exchange for a strong, accurate throw that leads to a big play. That big arm is also on display when flushed out of the pocket and unable to get his feet set. In that scenario we see Fassberg deliver a dart with pure shoulder strength. On the other hand, when he does get to set his feet and trigger his mechanics Fassberg is capable of delivering a Nolan Ryan-esque fastball with plenty of juice on it. Pocket presence is a part of his game too, as he moves and weaves in and out in all directions to buy time. A clear understanding of the offense, Fassberg takes 1-2 steps and the ball is out. His throws are on target, but I am unsure if they are necessarily in the perfect placement. To the naked eye of an outside observer, it seems as though Fassberg runs Lawrenceville’s system extremely well.

Fassberg was a very nice “surprise” at PRZ Next Rising Prospect Camp in New Jersey this past weekend. A native of New York, I heard rumblings of Fassberg having some ability and enjoyed seeing him live. Fassberg made the decision to reclass and will be at The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey next year. His arm talent is what struck me the most at camp. Obviously well-coached and well-trained, he has a smooth release and throws a very catchable spiral. There is noticeable room for improvement from an overall athleticism standpoint. While he does a good job of standing tall in the pocket, he plays the position quite stiff–almost robotic at time. Loosening up a bit and moving more fluidly will only help him moving forward.

is a true pocket passer type and was really solid throughout the day. Accuracy was his top trait and he was able to consistently hit guys in stride 1v1. Fassberg was amongst the second tier of quarterbacks in individual drills but stood out in 1v1s with his anticipation and ball placement on throws. A really solid quarterback who already has recruitable measurables.
