is one of the most underrated corners in New Jersey. His technique stands out immediately. He stays disciplined in zone and doesn’t get fooled by eye candy.
Jones processes quickly. He recognizes route threats, understands leverage, and knows when to pass routes off or lock in one-on-one. His transitions are smooth. He gets in and out of breaks with ease and mirrors receivers effectively.
What separates him even more is his tackling. Jones finishes in space and holds up in one-on-one situations. He’s reliable on the perimeter and brings real value against the run.
This offseason feels pivotal. Once he gets on the camp circuit and shows his skill set in person, don’t be surprised if he turns heads and starts climbing recruiting boards.

is still just a freshman. In a limited role last season, Jones received limited snaps; however, with a lot of talented and experienced prospects set to graduate off the ‘Bolts roster, expect opportunity-a-plenty for Jones this fall.

took his you could very well witness something exciting. During indy drills it was ever-apparent that Jones was the most aggressive defensive back of the group. Very handsy, Jones felt entitled to every single ball in the air. Should his matchup make the grab Jones was sure to get his hands in their bread basket to break it up. One particular play, Jones made an astounding 1-handed pick falling backwards that had the whole arena going “OHHHH!” What made Jones my choice for MVP at defensive back was that he did two things every singe play: compete and run. As discussed above he competed for every ball. I found that Jones never relented and jockeys with receivers over every inch of the field. When running, he was stride for stride with everyone. He was always either in the hip pocket of the receiver or in position to drive on the ball over top and make a play.

Earlier this month when I released the defensive back’s on the initial 2028 New Jersey Watchlist, I said that although I hadn’t watched him play in person yet,

was my top defensive back in the state at this point. What I saw at the New Jersey Prep Redzone Next Middle School Camp this past weekend, confirmed everything I thought–Jones is an absolute stud. The Millville prospect was neck-and-neck with

for the MVP award throughout the camp. Loved the way he competed the entire time, specifically in 1-on-1’s. Out of all the defensive backs there, he did–hands down–the best job of defending all the way through the play and punched numerous balls out of the hands of receivers trying to reel in a catch. He played a mean version of position and dared receivers to get physical with him. Quick reflexes and natural position instincts allowed for him to play press coverage without the fear of getting faked out. Absolutely loved his performance and at 5-foot-9 and 145 pounds, he’s a prospect I could see gaining major college attention early.

In full disclosure, I have not seen him play live yet; But on film, Jones is my top defensive back in New Jersey for this 2028 class. Was clocked at a 11.20 in the 100m last spring and has only gotten faster. Jones hits better than most linebackers, runs faster than most running backs and plays with bad intentions on every snap. Versatile enough to play corner or safety right now. He’s going to be a special one.
