Another dual position stud to add to Fairview’s list. The LB/TE hybrid Vhad 4 receptions for 77 yards and 1 touchdown, 2 carries for 10 yards, 14 total tackles (8 solo, 6 assisted), 1 FF, 1 FR. Ryder has good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, jumping, good speed, and change of direction. He has very good mental processing too. On the defensive side, he will watch where the ball is always. On the offensive side, he identifies the void in the zone, exploiting it leading to a touchdown. As a linebacker, he uses his good sideline to sideline speed to track down defenders. Villarreal is a very good tackler. He wraps up the ball carrier and uses his very good strength to pull them down. He’s a good run stopper, stopping the ball carrier in their tracks. When he lined up on offense, a lot of times he would slip undercover with the defense not accounting for him. Villarreal has good catching. After the catch, he’ll lower his shoulder pad, trucking through the defender. He even got some crucial blocks for breakout runs. This game showcased Ryder’s impacts on both sides of the ball, and versatile senior DESERVES some extra looks from colleges.

is the REAL deal. Playing his high school ball at Fairview, Villarreal is the first name from the junior class to be included on this list and for good reason. Last Friday, the All-Conference linebacker followed up with a double-digit tackling performance from the weekend prior with his seconds-straight similar outing in the win over Horizon. At the end of the day, Villarreal was a human wrecking ball en route to ten tackles and plenty of hurries on the quarterback and deserves to be included on this prized list.

Villarreal is a backer that has the old school mentality when is comes to his play on the field. He shows the physicality wanting to come up and pop the ball carrier or intended receiver. He is good at dislodging the ball from the receivers and is good at the line of scrimmage with redirecting TE’s/Slot receivers when he is in coverage as well. At times he shows the speed to be able to track the ball down from behind the play, getting to the ball carrier when they get stuck trying to find a hole to run through. He is good at getting pressure on the QB when his number is called and can hit home as well at times.

Villarreal is a player who is familiar with being under the spotlight. His second year as a varsity role player has put him on a path toward becoming one of the more prominent prospects in his class. He is the epitome of what teams expect from a leader, physically and mentally. His ability to read and react shows his physicality and overall understanding of the game. In addition to being a starting outside linebacker, Villarreal is also a backup quarterback, which undoubtedly adds to his advanced knowledge of the game.
