Ruttgers had a phenomenal season for Fairview. The 5’10 165-pound WR/RB/FS had 36 carries for 338 yards and 9 touchdowns, 36 receptions for 691 yards with 11 touchdowns, 59 total tackles (31 solo, 28 assisted), 6.5 TFL, 2 INT (both TDs), 12 PD, 14 kick offs for 413 yards and 1 touchdown. Ruttgers has very good athletic ability due to elite acceleration, very good speed, change of direction, and balance. Quick twitch ability. On offense, he has a very good release. Fluid route running paired with very good separation quickness. Very good catching with very good body control and adjustment. When he’s running the ball, demonstrates very good vision and inside running. He glides through the defense effortlessly. On defensive, he has very good read and reaction time. Very good man coverage and zone. He’s a lockdown DB. Very good tackling with good strength. He can impact the FBS level in my opinion.

Ruttgers is a safety with a lot of speed and plays like his hair on fire, flying around to make plays. In the running game he is able to drop down into the box and has the speed to beat blocks and make a tackle in the backfield. On film it looks as if he is shot out of a cannon as he gets ontop of the ball carrier as soon as they get the ball to bring them down for a TFL. In coverage he can cover the slot receiver or drop back, reading his keys and making a play on the ball to knock it down. He is a great coverage safety that has top tier speed and should be a player that hits the camp circuit hard this offseason.
