I have written about Ronald Burnette a few times as he has been a key player for Steelton-Highspire. In a lot of ways, Burnette is the most underrated prospect on Steelton. He is the constant bell-cow for Steelton at running back. He is a physical tough running back who gains extra yards by running for them. Burnette has a motor that never stops when he is running and he shows good speed when he can break away from defenders.

Burnette Jr. might be on the samller side at 5-foot-9 but he is a tough and electric ball carrier for Steelton-Highspire. He showed the ability to make plays happen both between the tackles and off the edge – overall, he’s a prospect that looks quite a bit better than he was a season ago. Excited to see how he continues to progress this fall.

Ronald Burnette made a tough performance look easy in this one. The 5’9 junior back scored three times in this one, providing all of the scoring for the Steam Rollers. What impressed me more than his three scores, the way he toted the rock angrily with each opportunity that was given to him. Burnette Jr. often turned 5-yard runs into 10-yard first-down carries solely because he was unwilling to stop churning his legs. This is one tough back that is going to see a boost in rank in time. The term “role players” gives off a bad connotation at times. It shouldn’t. At times, games are decided by role players and if they decide to step up or not. Consider both Legrande and Burnette Jr. two crucial role players who will have a say in whether or not the Rollers will get back to a state title. Both prospects provide similar roles, producing at both linebackers and running back spots. It should be a pleasure to the coaching staff knowing they have prospects like these waiting to make a play at all times.
