At 6-foot-3, his length allows him to disrupt passing lanes and compete for every ball in the air. Johnson’s athleticism and physical style make him a valuable asset in both man and zone coverage. As he continues to refine his technique, he has the potential to become one of the Mid-Penn’s top defensive backs. Expect Johnson to play a major role in leading the Indians’ secondary this season.

I should nickname him Johnson Island with his ability to cover receivers and lock them down. The 1st thing I noticed with him is his size. He is (6’0), if not taller. He has these long arms that allow him to cover players well. He is also physical. He so badly wanted to be physical with wide receivers, but this is hard to do at a 7-on-7 event. Still, Johnson also wanted to tackle someone so badly. Johnson is a big and physical defensive back. He has yet to get a College offer, but it will eventually happen.

He had an excellent year for Susquehanna Township playing as a cornerback. His ability to lock down wide receivers is good. His skill set is perfect for the PRZPA Classic 7-on-7. You need elite cornerbacks to cover the great skill kids you will see. Johnson will be up for the task. He is playing for a good team in GSOT Sports.

6’2, 170 out of Susquehanna Township, 3.2 GPA. One of the more intriguing DBs here from a traits standpoint. Saw him at a combine and the physical tools translate directly to tape. Comfortable in man, plays with length, and competes at the line of scrimmage. D1 flirtation isn’t crazy based on tools alone, heavy D2/FCS traction incoming.

An interception of his was recorded in the video above. I thought Johnson put forth a respectable effort, arguably enough to crack the top five at his position. Might be a bit of a snub, either way, Johnson’s ranking is going to elevate. 6’2, 180 pounds. 3.4 GPA. Camp performance aside, taking a look at Johnson’s tape in co-ordinance with what I saw in person, I can’t help but be excited for this kid’s future. I’ll keep plugging his name as he progresses as a senior at Susquehanna Township.

He earned a 2nd-team defense at the showcase. He showed up and did a good job of covering wide receivers all day. He also did a good job in the individual drills. Johnson is currently waitlisted, and he earned a ranking spot. I expect he will get it. I also expect a huge season from Johnson next season.

His ability to turn his hips and run with receivers is excellent. He can cover receivers in both man-to-man and zone coverage. When the ball is thrown near him, he is able to lock them down with good coverage skills. Johnson is also a good tackler. He is not afraid to come upfield to tackle players in the open field. Johnson has the size and skills to improve and be even better next year. I love his size and athleticism.
