made a big splash in his first season at Malcolm Shabazz, leading his team to the state finals and delivering his best statistical year. After transferring from Clifton, Romelo took his game and physical development to the next level. Now standing at 6’1” (and looking closer to 6’2”), his more prominent, muscular frame has set him apart as a prototypical quarterback prospect.
Romelo’s physical tools are undeniable. His arm strength allows him to push the ball downfield quickly, and he shows flashes of dominance in delivering deep passes. However, accuracy on those throws remains a work in progress, as receivers often adjust to underthrown balls. Improving this aspect of his game will be key to unlocking his full potential.
Beyond his arm talent, Romelo’s ability to stand tall in the pocket and operate an efficient offense had been a significant strength. Under his leadership, Malcolm Shabazz’s offense resembled a well-oiled machine for most of the season. Additionally, Romelo is a threat with his legs, showcasing mobility, making him a dual-threat option.
Currently uncommitted, Romelo was early interested in UConn, but his recruitment has yet to gain full traction amid the chaos of transfer portal season. That said, his size, arm talent, and overall presence as a quarterback make him a compelling Division I prospect. With time and development, Romelo could grow into a major contributor at the collegiate level, and his recruitment journey will be one to monitor closely in the coming months.

has been a fixture in the North Jersey public high school football scene for years now. Now, finally, Tables is a senior going on his last ride. In the 2023 season he was credited with 42/90 passing for 428 yards with 4 touchdowns and 4 interceptions, while also rushing 83 times for 307 yards and scoring 3 times. Tables is the type of quarterback who likes things hectic. Much of his performance comes from when things break down in the pocket. A maestro at buying time, we see that Tables has the ability to run back-and-forth and evade numerous tackles when his protection dissipates. The escape artist also has a quick release that allows him to avoid tackles for losses in such situations; however, he seems to typically want to keep the ball in his hands when he breaks the pocket. With the ball in his hands he is agile and can make cuts to get upfield against more cumbersome linebackers. Timing is also to Tables’ benefit – as when he has time in the pocket he has synchronous timing with his receivers. If Tables can improve his pocket presence he has all the raw, physical abilities to be amongst the state’s statistical leaders during his senior season.

is the first player to end up on two of my articles this off season; the 2025 Clifton QB deserves all of the attention he’s received. His play in 2022 was special to watch, as you saw him pass for 8 touchdowns and run for another 5.
A QB that can feel the pocket, Romelo is able to keep his eyes down field and maneuver within it to avoid the pressure. And when there are no other options, he’s able to pull it in and make a play with his feet. Romelo has very elite arm strength. From multiple arm positions, you will find Romelo delivering the deep ball with near perfect precision. 2023 is looking bright for Clifton, as they return multiple starters for the fall.

. Romelo is a special talent, he has Johnny Manziel like magic to his game. With 8 passing touchdowns and 5 on the ground, he is a true duel threat quarterback.
Romelo has the ability to slide around the pocket fluidly and knows when it’s appropriate to tuck it and run. What is most impressive is he has an amazing ability to keep his eyes downfield while sliding around the pocket. And when it’s time to deliver a deep ball, you know Romelo can make the throw with near perfect accuracy. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if we saw his total touchdowns double in 2023.
