is one of the best two-way players in the state. He is a dynamic running back who is hard to bring down. He also has good speed, as he can run by defenders when he gets in the open field. Then, as a linebacker, he is a game-changer, chasing plays all over the field. He needs a good game on both sides to help PCC win the State Title.
Jr year regular season film! One of the most dominant 2 way players in the state!!

. A standout wrestler as well as a back, Thompson makes his mat background obvious every time he carries the ball. He stays low, wins the leverage battle, and uses his balance to absorb contact without losing momentum. Much like in wrestling, he keeps his base strong and drives through with relentless effort. His conditioning sets him apart too he looks fresher as the game goes on and his two-way presence makes him one of the most dependable players on the field.

stole the show. Pine-Richland had no answer for him, and by the end of the night, it was clear they didn’t want to keep tackling him. Known primarily as a downhill linebacker, Thompson made his strongest recruiting statement yet on the offensive side of the ball. He embodies the hard-nosed, angry runner that punishes defenses if they’re not strapped up. With a blend of vision, burst, and power, he ripped off chunk gains all night, finishing with three touchdowns. Defensively, he was just as impactful, flying around as a physical tackler. Thompson firmly planted himself in the conversation as one of the best two-way players in Pennsylvania’s 2027 class.

is an impressive linebacker prospect in the 2027 class. His ability to read the play and trigger upfield is impressive. He has the ability to make tackles in or near the line of scrimmage. He is also a good athlete who can run sideline-to-sideline to make plays. Thompson is a dynamic player who should only improve this upcoming season.

has top-overall-prospect capabilities, that’s his ceiling. There’s no questioning his unnatural ability to seek out the ball carrier from his inside backer spot. You don’t see underclassmen with this kind of natural instincts to sniff out runs before they can hit the desired hole. Elite pursuit skills, Thompson shows off phenomenal diagnosing skills on the fly. His performance against North Allegheny showcases each well, with Thompson blitzing and taking great angles to the QB to register an early sack. Thompson would throttle a route headed into his zone, get his eyes back on the QB, attack with great angles again, resulting in another sack/TFL of the NA QB.
Reps like the ones I saw against NA are littered across his seasonal tape. Worth mentioning the reps Thompson gets at back, this being the sole reason we still have him designated as an “ATH”. Akron was first to pull the trigger on Thompson a ways back, yet more MAC schools, specifically Miami (OH) and Toledo, have stepped up to offer the top 25 PA sophomore. Excited to rerank the young man.

Here is a really exciting 2027 prospect out of Pittsburgh Central Catholic. This spring he’s visited Pitt, Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Maryland. He does hold an offer from Akron that he picked up back on 11/2. I’m excited to see how the Viking’s staff develops the young upcoming Sophomore. He has the ability to be a big-time recruit, and with 3 seasons left to be played, he has time to prove it! He is currently ranked as the #5 prospect in his class!

flashed some serious skills last year for Pittsburgh Central Catholic. He played both linebacker and running back. At running back he showed an elusiveness to make people miss in the hole. Then when he got into the open field, he showed legit speed with his ability to run by defenders for touchdown or big plays. At linebacker, he showed good instincts and the ability to attack downhill and make tackles. Thompson did a nice job of triggering, getting upfield and making the tackle near the line of scrimmage. Thompson has a ton of talent and should only improve going into his Sophomore season”.

. The fact that he was able to produce this well considering some of the talent in front of him as well as surrounding him is a feat in itself. Tape begins with impressive run plays that mirror his tough linebacking playstyle. Understanding gap schemes translates to the offensive side of the football. What’s more impressive are the LB reps on tape. Stationed as the fill man in a 3-4 Under front. Despite hype, he plays like he’s out to prove something with each rep. I focused on his first step when the play was flowing away or toward him, no false steps to be seen. Runs to the flat well and wins 1v1s easily. Will react to his zones better the more mature he gets, this will come with time, yet he’s already looking like an upperclassman compared to some I see in Eastern Pennsylvania. Special football player whose jump from year one to year-two will be special.
