Expert Analysis

Halter is proof that Central Catholic reloads in the trenches year after year. At 6’5” and with the athletic background of a tight end, Halter’s first season at tackle has been eye-opening. His foot quickness and ability to redirect against speed rushers are advanced for his age, and his length allows him to recover even when beaten off the line. He’s picking up blue-chip offers like Notre dame, and his best football is still ahead of him as he adds weight and power. With his ceiling, Halter projects as a high-major bookend tackle and is a name that will only gain more steam nationally.

might be one of the biggest stock risers in the entire 2027 recruiting class as he has picked up multiple Division One offers, including one recently from The Ohio State University. Halter played as a tight end last year, where he was a devastating blocker. He destroyed defenders and drove them off the ball. He is projected as a starting offensive tackle this year for PCC, and I expect a huge year from Halter.

is a good prospect with the tools to be an elite offensive tackle. Last year, he played as a tight end, but he was a glorified offensive tackle because of how much he was used as a blocker. He is moving to offensive tackle next year as well. He is a good run blocker. He has excellent strength, and when he locks onto defenders, he does a good job driving them off the ball. It is impressive to watch him run block. He is excellent on double teams with tackles when they destroy the defensive lineman and drive them back into the linebacker. Halter is an impressive player who has a chance to be a dominant offensive tackle next year. He recently picked up an offer from Rutgers. I expect more offers to come his way.

Currenlty ranked as a top 50 sophomore prospect. Was ranked at this spot while at Mt. Lebanon, assigned an “OL” tag but playing TE for Central Catholic. 6’5, 245 pounds. Is a lacrosse participant. 4.0 GPA (4.4WGPA). Likely still being developed to play OL in the future. An early offer candidate under my grading system.
Attending the PCC-NA game and #87 stood out like a sore thumb. I admittedly wasn’t aware that Halter had transferred to the Pittsburgh powerhouse up until seeing him work live. Halter has always been on the lighter side in terms of weight, love the move to TE for the time being. Up 25 pounds since we last checked in on him. Is often on the hunt to block strong-side defenders that cannot match his power and athleticism. SAM backers, Slot DBs, roaming box safeties. Phenomenal pursuit skills, a phenomenal down blocker. Almost exclusively a blocking in-line TE, which bodes well for his future development at this program. I am excited to rework his ranking and profile before the 2027 rankings release.

is now at Pittsburgh Central Catholic after being at Mt. Lebanon last year. Halter has good position versatility with the ability to play offensive tackle and tight end. At both positions, he shows good athleticism. He does an excellent job of blocking while moving from either position. At the tight end position, he can block from different angles well. At offensive tackle, he does a nice job of pulling and blocking. Halter has a chance to continue to be a good player at either offensive tackle or tight end.

STANDOUT TRAIT ON TAPE: Pound-for-pound strength, Movement skills
Played freshman ball at 210, now listed at 220. Has a somewhat quick tape on Hudl, under two-and-a-haf minutes long. Apparent first year ever playing football, eventually starting for Mt. Lebanon by the end of the season. Raw power, strength that transcends his body weight. I know 6’5, 210-pound TEs, none of which can generate power like
