6’1, 270 out of Pittsburgh Central Catholic. Interior defensive lineman all the way at the next level. Was once a Top 75 player and still carries that type of talent. Strong weight room numbers and two-sport background. This is a Group of Five ceiling player in my opinion. Moves extremely well for an interior defender. One of the better chase-down IDLs in the state. Creates real disruption in the pocket. Had a strong season and should continue trending upward. No doubt D1 player regardless of current recruiting status.

Jaylen Smith Jaylen Smith 6'1" | 270 lbs | DL Central Catholic | 2027 State PA is a special defensive tackle who has great athleticism. Last year he played for Setan Lasalle, but has since transferred to PCC, where he provides another dominant defensive player for them. He gets off the ball faster than most defensive tackles as he explodes off the ball. He has a great combination of speed and athleticism. Smith should be in line for a massive season this year.

He has a swipe move, a swim move, a strong bull rush. He’s very athletically gifted, too. I watched his tape multiple times to make sure I wasn’t missing anything because he has near-perfect film for a sophomore. He offers some pass rush upside as well, especially with that aforementioned quick get off. And with that said I’m begging someone to pull the trigger on Smith bc he has high, high upside.

6’1, 255 pounds. Is a basketball participant over at Seton LaSalle. Had the chance to watch this young man dominate a playoff game this past Fall. Watching him and SL company was well worth the drive.

Closing speed to the football stands out immediately on tape. If he gets a free run or early penetration, the likelihood of the play getting shutdown quickly is high. Looks comfortable in a three down-lineman front, 3-4 in this case. Can shade inside or out against opposing tackles. One of the more advanced freshmen Dl I’ve come across when it comes to shedding and getting skinny in the trenches. Penetration post-snap is this kid’s game. Excellent hand-fighting, understands how to counter and use leverage. FCS schools better have this kid on their boards, that’s at the very least. Fantastic finisher I might add, a young man who brings a bit of attitude and juice to each TFL/sack. Great player who climbed nearly 70+ spots.
