He lines up at defensive tackle where he is very impressive against the run. Long is very difficult to move off the line of scrimmage as he has shown the strength to hold his ground to clog up his gap while taking on blocks. He has also shown the ability to split double teams with ease on his way to the ball carrier. Once he gets through the block, Long has shown the ability to get to the ball carrier with a sense of urgency to make the tackle in the open field. Ramari has begun to receive some college interest and will be a player worth keeping an eye on as he earns more opportunities at the varsity level moving forward.

Long lines up at defensive tackle/nose guard where he is very effective against the run. Ramari frequently requires a double team to get him off the ball and he does a great job of taking it on. He has shown the strength to hold his ground to clog the gaps while also showing the ability to split double teams and get to the ball carrier in a hurry to make the tackle in the open field. Ramari is a player who I’m excited to see progress over the next few years as he gets more opportunities at the varsity level.

Long lines up at defensive tackle where he is dominant against the run. He explodes out of his stance and uses his strength and high motor to fight through blocks on his way to the ball carrier. Once he gets to the ball carrier, Long does a great job of running his feet through contact to secure the tackle and not allow any extra yards to be gained. Ramari will be a player to keep a close eye on as he begins his high school career.

Another defensive prospect that stood out to me from Region 2 was the boulder in the middle of the defensive line, named Ramari Long. At 327 pounds with the feet of a kid who is half that size, he was a thorn in the side of the opposing Offensive Line(s) this weekend. He’s a broad, wide-body that can plug up multiple gaps along the defensive front. Had to be near double digit tackles on the weekend, including more than a few for loss.
