A two-way player, McCarn’s biggest impact as a junior was as a home run hitter as a hybrid receiver/tight end. Playing in a modified Wing-T, he was used primarily as a blocker, with a standard Wing-T passing route tree: lots of seams, flats, and corners. When called upon as a receiver, he was reliable and explosive, picking up chunks of yardage at a time.
