After making the switch from inside linebacker, Ledford made a huge impact at defensive end during Franklin County’s deep playoff run, finishing with 30 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and one forced fumble. Ledford plays with a very high motor, exploding out of his stance and using his pure strength to drive opposing offensive linemen into the backfield. Once he sees where the ball is going, he sheds blocks quickly and gets to the ball carrier. As a tackler, he runs his feet through contact and finishes with a ton of physicality. Ledford also plays a role on offense as a short yardage back and tight end, finishing the playoffs with one rushing touchdown. Peyton is committed to Army where I can see him developing into a key player for them down the road.

In his final season, Ledford transitioned from being mainly an off-ball linebacker to playing most of his reps at defensive end. He finished the regular season with 67 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and four sacks. Ledford plays with a very high motor, exploding out of his stance and driving opposing offensive linemen into the backfield to create disruption. He has also shown pass rush moves and speed off the edge to get to the quarterback. Against the run, Ledford is a very physical tackler in the open field, making sure his presence is felt with every hit. Peyton is committed to Army where I can see him being used in a variety of different roles.

He showed that he has the lateral mobility to move sideline to sideline with a sense of urgency. Ledford also does a great job of reading his keys and coming downhill quickly. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he explodes through contact and makes his presence felt as a tackler. He was also used on offense as an H-Back and tight end. Peyton is a very physical blocker and is a very reliable short yardage ball carrier as it takes a team to bring him down. Ledford is committed to Army and will look to be a very valuable player that can be used in multiple positions if needed at the next level.
