Buirley has been one of the key cogs in the Big Walnut offense for the last two years. He is a big back with a ton of juice. Size, explosiveness, vision, he’s a well-rounded running back. He runs with good contact balance. This week Buirley picked up an offer from Eastern Michigan.

Nolan is in tonight’s D2 state semifinal matchup against Anderson and is the lead tailback for Big Walnut. He’s got outstanding contact balance and fights through tackles. He’s explosive once he gets to his gap and can create explosive plays. He’s one of the premier offensive players in Columbus.

Nolan has worked himself into Mr. Football talks. He’s been a force in all of Central Ohio and hasn’t been stopped from getting his once this season. He’s got outstanding contact balance and vision. He has quick feet and can get to his hole quickly, even if he needs to evade an early rusher. With how many great players there are on Big Walnut this season, Nolan stands out as one of the best, if not the best. He’s done it against a tough schedule, and will look to help power this offense back to states, and bring home a championship to Sunbury.

Dual-threat runner and receiver. Proven track record of quickly getting vertical and taking the ball to the house. Effective threat as a receiver out of the backfield who can quickly catch, tuck the ball away and turn. Great size and frame with room to grow.

Buirley was a big player in Big Walnut’s D2 state semifinal run. On the season the sophomore running back ran for over 2,100 yards and 29 TD’s. At 6’1 195 pounds he’s a bigger back. He added a huge kickoff return for a touchdown in their big 14-7 quarterfinal playoff win over Massillon. Nolan has a good burst for his size. He has good vision and patience for finding holes. He has a more upright running style but does a good job of protecting the ball. I’m interested to see what Nolan puts on film next fall as he continues developing.
