A linebacker/running back combo like Montgomery, Riley is another major contributor returning next season for the Warriors.
More of a shifty running back than Montgomery — but a hard hitter nonetheless — Riley took 70 carries for 332 yards and a touchdown as a tailback last season. Defensively, he’s the top tackler returning from last year after posting 27.5 tackles, three sacks and 6.5 tackles-for-loss.
Riley will be counted on to increase his production dramatically this coming season. He’s not the vocal presence that Montgomery is, but the pair will be vital to the success of Washington on both sides of the ball in 2025.

It’s not easy standing out as a two-way player in Class 5A, but Riley makes key contributions on both sides of the ball. He was the team’s second-leading rusher last season, gaining 332 yards and a touchdown on the ground. As a linebacker, he recorded 27.5 tackles (16 solo, 6.5 TFL), 3.0 sacks and a fumble recovery. Riley is an active defensive performer that’s quick to diagnose plays and runs well to the ball. He’s an intriguing prospect as a ball carrier, which we can witness watching his junior highlight video. Riley effectively runs between the tackles or gets outside. He runs hard.
