Expert Analysis

6’0, 190 pounds. Has put out great tape at both back and backer in the past. Is ranked as a top 200 senior, this being an FCS-ceiling type of prospect. Currently un-offered.
Twitter has been a bit quiet, he’d likely benefit from putting out his single-game cut-ups so that coaches could quickly get caught up. At the very least, Ewell has seven games to choose from for interested coaches. No mid-season, no first-three. Ewell carried the rock a bit against Cumberland Valley before Mickens’ inevitable takeover. Ewell’s presence would still be felt on defense, with the senior backer registering a respectable number of stops inside the box.
Ewell’s tape against Central Dauphin has him working in a similar two-way role. Ewell recorded two TFLs stacked on top of a few good outside zone runs. The Division One projection might’ve faded, yet this is still a fantastic bring-in for local Division Two programs. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out Ewell is a successful PSAC backer in two years time.

continues to shine on both sides of the ball for Harrisburg. He is a good running back who does a nice job making defenders miss. He is also a physical runner who is hard to bring down. He is also making his mark at outside linebacker where he continues to play well. Against Central Dauphin, he rushed for over 100 yards and made several big plays on defense. He is a good, twitchy athlete who can do a ton of things on both sides of the ball.

, but he should not be overshadowed as well because he is a good running back as well. Ewell is good at finding a hole and using his burst to get through the hole. He can make defenders miss and also has a physical style of running through contact. Ewell is a good running back prospect.

would likely rank as a top 5-10 running back without his defensive production. Seeing him work as a Box DB and linebacker inclined me to move him to “ATH” this ranking update. At this designation, Ewell places as a top 15 ATH in his class, he and Fairey are the only two currently without an offer to their name. I’m a known fan of bigger backs, adding pass-rush skills and a defensive mentality to an already exciting build and you have a prospect in line for potential looks from important people. With names like Kevin Brown,

exploded onto the scene this year for Harrisburg at running back. He rushed for over 1,300 yards and 18 touchdowns. A good accomplishment for a Junior Season. Ewell has elite speed and flashes that speed when he breaks through the line and rushes for big gains. He had several long touchdown runs on the year. Ewell also shows a good ability to make good jump cuts. He can make a run and knows exactly how to jump and find the hole. Ewell is a perfect fit for a zone team because of his vision when he runs with the ball.

, like many on this list, is going to see a huge climb up our boards. The stock rise began to climb shortly after the Week Zero performance against William Penn (York). Sharing the bulk of carries with Hill and other Cougars, Nehemaih Ewell grabbed all of our attentions after taking handoffs out of gun from Shawn Lee and absolutely barrelling over would-be tacklers. The size immediately stands out and watching him open up his stride is what left me seriously impressed. I watched the 6’1, 190-pound back open up his gait and blow past defenders I would have deemed much faster than he was before the snap. Speed like this, combined with his frame, you could have a serious prospect on your hands. Ewell went on to score on two carries, both of which went for 60+ yards. Hell of an opening performance. I hear the kid is still tearing up turf even now. Not surprised anymore.

, who is going to see a substantial jump in his ranking after the season. - Big back, 6’1, 190+, tends to fall forward, can be trusted to not run out of bounds, instead fighting for yardage downfield.
- Plenty of splash runs on the night, working out of gun and taking inside zone handoffs between the tackles.
- Ewell ripped off scores on a 45+ yard run, as well as another score on an 85-yard run soon after.
- Hell of a night that will stick with me all the way to December.
