Stats: 2 Tackles, 4 PBUs, 1 INTrnMurphy ended his HS career by playing out of his mind, and proved that I have been sleeping on him. You can bet we are going to see him move up the overall rankings, and positional rankings as we get into our update. The safety made plays at every level of the field. They could count on him to attack when he read run, and make sound tackles. Against the pass, Murphy did a great job playing a deep zone. He was quick to read the QB, and closed on the ball rapidly. His timing to break up the pass was spot on all night long. Monreal could even be relied on in one on one coverage thanks to his loose hips and quick feet so he could change direction. Don’t sleep on the Milwaukee Marquette product. Check out the film.

I am intrigued by the 5’11” 170 lbs safety out of Marquette. He was very productive in 2022. He is undersized, but the safety’s play recognition can’t be denied. It got him in position to make the plays he did. His hand eye coordination led to turnovers, and a lot of passes batted down thanks to well timed, active hands. The kid knows what to do with the ball after the catch too. He sees the field well, thanks to his experience as a returner. I hope to see him work his way up the rankings this year.
