About Monsanna
Expert Analysis
Tyler Stevens | Prep Redzone Scout
Monsanna is one of the best athletes in all of Ohio. At quarterback, he nearly put up a 2,000/1,000 season, and is a dynamic playmaker who can explode at any time. Defensively, he’s fluid, and moves smoothly in the secondary. He has great measurables, and with an excellent 2025 season, we could be talking about a prospect wanted by the crown jewels of college football.

Very dynamic and very athletic player who is electrifying with the ball in his hands. Easily one of the best prospects in the state and region. Smooth runner with great height and length and is a legit, dual-threat quarterback. Clocked a 4.39-40 time, very fluid hips and loose lower half, good change-of-direciton as a defensive back. Can turn and p;ay ball. Threw for 2,201 yards and 30 touchdowns last year with an extra 900 yards on the ground as a quarterback. Could see him also playing DB with his fluid hips and ball skills.

Up 27 spots, Monsanna is just one piece of Taft’s rising D1 pipeline. He is an incredible athlete at the quarterback position who can both sling it and take off as a runner. He has a clocked 4.44 40 time and has the vision in the designed quarterback run game to find space and explode. As a thrower, he throws with good timing and anticipation. He can launch the ball over the top and pose a terrifying threat to defenses as a true dual-threat.

In a big 44-0 victory over Brookville, Montana Tobert shined brightly. He was super accurate, finishing 11/12 for 265 passing yards, four passing touchdowns, and added 169 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown on just three attempts. Torbert’s speed, athletic ability and potential are through the roof. He already holds a couple of Division I offers, but that will likely grow exponentially in the next few months.

The Taft program has gotten stronger stronger and stronger each of the last few years and turned into a D1 pipeline. Torbert Jr. is a talented two-way playmaker for the Senators. He’s an explosive athlete who shows high end playmaking ability on both sides of the ball. On offense Torbert shows the speed and route running ability to create separation and make plays. Beyond the physical traits, Monsanna has a high football IQ that shows up especially on defense and plays with good anticipation. He has a tremendous break on the ball and the ball skills to make the interception. When he gets the ball in his hands off the turnover, he has the ability to take it to the house. While he checks in at #47 in his first rankings, he has a really high ceiling and could develop into a Power 4 caliber player.
