David played well as a Sophomore in 2024. He lines up in the slot. He shows good football intelligence as he finds the holes in the coverage and displays great hands as he makes the catch. He displays very good contact balance after the catch as he breaks tackles from DB with ease before picking up a first down. He does a great job of working his way back to the QB on broken plays as he makes the catch. He is a solid blocker as he uses his leverage and good hand use to block the DB.
After seeing playing time at wide receiver and a freshman season at Miami Valley Christian Academy, Fields transferred to Princeton high school. Fields has the explosiveness and precision route running ability to create easy separation. He has the body control and hands to make small window catches. David worked hard this off-season to put on 15 pounds of good weight and is looking much bigger and stronger than in his freshman season. I’m excited to see what he can put on film this fall in a Princeton offense where he’s surrounded by lots of talent.
David is a talented slot receiver from Cincinnati Country day. He’s coming off a freshman season where he really progressed and earned playing time and a role as a part of the Nighthawks offense. Fields lined up as a slot receiver. Seeing his film and seeing him run routes in person the first thing you notice is his explosiveness. He’s able to create easy separation versus defenders due to his ability to stop a dime and his explosive change of direction traits. David is a fluid hands catcher who can make plays with the ball after the catch. The athleticism and skill talent is there, Fields just needs to continue to add good weight and get stronger. If he can do that the future is bright.
