had big shoes to fill taking over Chase Smith under Center, who’s now playing for the Cyclones, but Haedt flashed strong potential in his first year as starter for the Lancers. Haedt completed over 70% of his passes for 1225 yards, 14 TDs, and 3 INTs while also leading the team with 411 rushing yards (4.1 YPC) and 5 rushing TDs. Much of his mechanics from his time leading the JV team translated well on varsity, showcasing solid range and strong accuracy as a passer while keeping opposing defense’s on their toes with his agile footwork and his ability to make defenders second-guess on option-runs. Haedt will look to guide the Lancers back toward the top of the 4A chain in his senior season.

is expected to take over as the Lancers’ starting QB in 2025. In limited reps last season, Haedt went 6 of 13 for 78 yards passing while rushing for 47 yards on 11 carries and 2 touchdowns. A dynamic athlete who’s a dangerous dual-threat, Haedt’s potential was evident leading the JV team, fooling the defense often on the option-runs, and being able to burst through the lanes up the middle of the field. Haedt’s passing mechanics aren’t perfect, but he does a solid job throwing on the run, showing good anticipation on his deep throws, and he has a strong arm that can stretch the ball downfield. Haedt has a lot of potential to shine as a starter, and if he can tune his passing mechanics more throughout this season, Haedt should shoot up toward the top of the QB rankings by the end of this season.

Haedt’s sophomore highlight video features a lot of simple football. It shows him taking snaps at quarterback and running through the defense for large gains. With a burst, Haedt finds open lanes with good vision and anticipation. He has another gear in the open field. Haedt proves to be a dangerous passer on other clips. His arm is strong and he sees the field well. It’d be wise to keep an open mind with Haedt. He could continue developing at quarterback. The athleticism that powers him at that position would allow him to move off of it, too.
