Always keeping his eyes in the right spot, taking on offensive lineman and disengaging to make the tackle, Perez does things technically right in the middle of the North Scott defense. He also packs a punch when he gets a head of steam. An intimidating linebacker with a high motor that understands the game and plays with the required level of physicality at the linebacker position.

Perez was a problem for opposing offenses as a North Scott junior in 2025. He produced 34.0 tackles with 31 of them being solo stops. Perez was credited with 2.0 tackles for loss and a sack.
