About McKrae
Expert Analysis
Andy Pham | Prep Redzone Scout
McKrae is primed for a huge season ahead. He’s had an excellent offseason, and every time I come and see him, he makes big plays after big plays and does an excellent job of creating separation and cleanly wins his routes. He’s a tough cover, and he shows good hip fluidity and has the speed to win downfield. He’s a player who will have a great Sophomore season.

McKrae is an exceptional talent and he’s quickly ascending the pecking order at Mountain Ridge. He’s a receiver who is good off the line, has good footwork, and is a receiver that easily creates separation. He’s a twitchy athlete who is exceptional after the catch and showcasing his creativity. It’s possible Renteria starts the season on Thursday nights, but he is too talented not to dress for varsity. I expect him to suit up on Friday nights around September and be inserted into the rotation, and it would not shock me if he were part of the core receivers and getting significant playing time. He is a great athlete, is twitchy, and creative with the ball in his hands. He has good lateral quickness and hip fluidity to go along with good footwork and the ability to create separation. He’s a player you want in space where he can create and make defenders miss. I’ll be hard-pressed to find a better receiver in that room. Future Power-Four offers are coming his way.

Renteria is a great athlete and a two-way dynamic player. He has great hip fluidity, exceptional footwork, and great ball skills. He is strong at the catch point, and I prefer him as a receiver as he is a dynamo with the ball in his hands and can create on his own. His ceiling includes multiple Power-Four offers. Renteria is a great prospect for the class.

Renteria has a good frame to grow into for a 2029 prospect. He is a two-way player with natural instincts at cornerback and wide receiver. I prefer him as a wide receiver going forward. Renteria has good footwork and easily creates separation. He’s a good route runner with little wasted movement. Renteria moves well laterally and his good hip fluidity. He displays good ball-tracking skills and is strong at the catch point. Renteria has good physicality to his game and does an excellent job in fighting through contact and creating after the catch to pick up chunk yards. He has good overall athleticism and speed and is a player with a great ceiling. Renteria projects as a Power-Four athlete with huge upside, he’ll be pushing for varsity reps as a freshman.

- Renteria is an exciting two-way player at both Wide Receiver and Defensive Back, but has also taken direct snaps allowing him to show off his running ability. His five-game highlight tape is impressive.
- He lists himself at 5-foot-10 and a 155-pounds as of October 2024. While it’s difficult to tell how accurate that is, he does have some longer legs and more than adequate muscle mass. Just a good lookin prospect from head to toe
- As of this write up (10/1/24), Renteria is a key member of a Mountain Ridge team that sits with an unblemished 7-0 record on the season and is fresh off an impressive 13-6 victory over previously undefeated Northridge.
