Expert Analysis

Maurice is a dominant mismatch on tape. The 6′ 170 lbs WR has developed highly effective traits for the next level. He is quick off the line, and also explodes out of sharp breaks in his routes. Those route breaks or head fakes allow him to quickly open up a lot of separation. Maurice can also win with speed. He takes the top off the defense and can pull away in the open field. After the catch, the slot WR is elusive and finds blocks to utilize. The senior has speed, route running, and ball tracking to be a player at the next level. Don’t sleep on him.

Densmore had a strong showing in Mount Carmel’s loss to Loyola, as the senior wide receiver went for 172 yards and 2 touchdowns. Densmore measures in at 6’0, 170 lbs and showcases precision route running and elite speed. He can separate from opposing defensive backs by stacking on routes and swiftly moving in and out of breaks to create space. He is most dangerous after the catch, as Densmore can make one move to defeat an incoming tackler. From there, his speed takes over as the only thing between him and the end zone is open grass. Long story short, Densmore is a home run threat every time he catches the ball. Whether it’s a vertical pass, a jet sweep, or a screen, Densmore is destined for 6 points.

added some big-time firepower to the Mount Carmel offense and brings a 6′, 170 lb. frame, All-Conference, Academic All-State, and an experienced Midwest Boom 7v7 resume to the Caravan. I had fun watching his junior tape, which showed off a contested catch machine with a big catch radius who will lay out, put his body on the line, and fearlessly & athletically high point and play the ball perfectly in the air. If you put the rock anywhere near Densmore he will come down with it, and is a concise, powerful cutter when creating separation at the LOS, at the top of the route, or after the catch. He does show some juice with the ball in hand as well, and also has good reps as a DB, where he can flip his hips and get out of his breaks with pace and without wasting steps who will also lay the wood in run support with no hesitation. The natural 50/50 ball winning ability is one of the best in the state and my favorite part of his exciting and attractive junior highlights. Densmore holds offers from Bucknell and Illinois State, and with the transfer to the powerhouse Caravan for his senior year, he’s got the chance to boost his stock significantly in 2023. I’ll be eagerly awaiting the senior tape for this kid!

The Maine South junior is fresh off his first offer as FCS Illinois State reached out with a scholarship opportunity on February 21st. 6′, 170 lb. WR Maurice Densmore was an All-Conference and Academic All-State pick this past fall after posting 47 catches for 705 yards for 7 total TDs while adding 10 tackles, a PBU, an INT, and a fumble recovery in five games of defensive action. Soft hands, great ball tracking skills, and the body control to contort himself and consistently pull off tough catches to his back shoulder, high in the air, and on 50/50 balls. I also like some of his footwork as a route runner and when he lines up as a CB. Densmore is a good athlete with a big catch radius who is going to fight for every ball thrown his way. More offers will be coming.

Mr. Densmore works primarily as an X receiver and can work out of the slot at times as well. Look at the first clip in the highlights below and you’ll get a good look into the type of playmaker that this young man is. In multiple plays, he was able to go up for 50/50 balls on deep shots downfield and secure the contested catch. What stands out the most to me about his game is two things, the first being how he can adjust last second to secure the catch and the second being his quick feet at the line of scrimmage to get a good release off the line. For the rest of this fall season, keep a close eye on this young man. Also, keep an eye on his route running as he flashes how quick he can be in/out of the top of his route. Currently holds no offers but does have some interest from the next level. Twitter
