much sooner than they were, but the cream always rises to the top. The Noblesville High School offensive tackle, who comes from a very athletic family, committed to Curt Cignetti’s Indiana Hoosiers. Cignetti and Co. are getting a big 6-foot-7, 300-pound offensive tackle who has a mean streak. McDermott is a fantastic finisher as a run blocker, plays with a high motor, has tremendous effort, and is hard to get around just due to his size and frame. Great first-step quickness. The Hoosiers have a potential cornerstone left tackle here.

has seen his recruiting blow up since the start of March, earning offers from Duke, BYU, and Oklahoma State in addition to his offers from California and Stanford in February. College coaches undoubtedly see the potential in the 6-foot-7, 300-pound frame and strong run-blocking skills as evidence of his upside.

A powerful edge setter, McDermott is fun to watch. He dominates at the line of scrimmage and creates lanes you could drive a truck through. With offers from North Carolina, IU, and more, he has his choice of where to play on Saturdays.

continues to make big strides. The 6-foot-7, 295-pound offensive tackle has a tremendous frame and will only keep getting stronger. Coming from an athletic family, McDermott has solid foot speed, a good first step and can fire forward nicely to the second level. Overwhelms opposing defenders just with his sheer size and strength.

McDermott has elite size and intangibles that all bode well for him longterm. His core body strength is good, and he’s still developing his body. He’s violent and has a nonstop motor, and I don’t think it’ll be long before schools start lining up to reach out to him.

Mason’s older brother, Ransom McDermott, is a lean 6-foot-8, 305-pound mountain of a man and freshman for the Louisville Cardinals. Mason is primed to follow his older brother’s footsteps as a national recruit, as the sophomore is already 6-foot-6 and weighs a sturdy 275-pounds. He’ll likely grow at least another two inches in the near future. He is a very effective run blocker who can control the line of scrimmage and create gaps for the double-wing Noblesville offense.

McDermott is the younger brother of Ransom, who was once one of the top linemen in his class. Now, it’s his younger brother’s turn to shine, and we have a good one. The frame is something to be excited about because it’s legit. A full 6’6″ and 280lbs that you can only draw up normally in a lab. He’s violent, he’s incredibly strong, he’s got a mean streak to his game, and he’s only just getting started. His ability to flatten defensive players right off the line is as clean as it gets. The future is bright for McDermott and if he continues to develop the way he is, there’s no telling how far he can go.
