Holtzclaw was one part of a successful two-QB system at Carrollton this past year. He is a dynamic size/speed threat, making most of his impact as a runner. He moves well for a big guy, quickly cutting through space. He is big enough to finish runs violently, too. He has a strong arm and has evidence of hard throws on tape. He will hold onto the ball a tick longer and take on contact if it means a receiver gets open. Holtzclaw is the most prototypical QB on this list.

A new quarterback to know this year in the Peach State, Holtzclaw is a transfer from North Carolina who will be the leader of the mighty Carrollton Trojans offense this upcoming fall. Holtzclaw already holds D1 offers and couldn’t ask to be in a better position for his final high school season. Playing for arguably the best coach across the state and in an offense friendly to the quarterback, Holtzclaw has several Power Four receivers to sling the ball too and should put up big numbers this fall for the Trojans.

We’ve been huge fans of Holtzclaw for a while and then he blew up on the recruiting trail, which only goes to reinforce our belief that he’s a high-level Power Four prospect. He’s a pocket passer, but he’s not a statue and has the speed to escape the tackle box and deliver downfield or pick up a few positive yards. He already has excellent size and has the arm to make any throw in the college game.
