Smith was a standout back at our Battle in Bama tournament. The traits are there. He is an explosive prospect with plenty of range and ball skills, but he was a vocal leader who did a great job of getting his guys lined up on defense. On both sides of the ball, he was a reliable playmaker and always around the action. Being active and instinctual always translates, and those are the adjectives i’d use to describe Smith.

, who I already highlighted for his day 1 performance. Everything I said about Smith held true in bracket play. He was reliable on both sides of the ball, but his IQ for the game and ability to get his teammates in the right spot was what made an impact on every down. A smart, vocal leader who doubles as a reliable playmaker on both sides of the ball.

Smith caught my eye early and was an active player on both sides of the ball. He is a stout, explosive, fluid player who played with outstanding instincts on defense and was a reliable receiver on offense. Looks the part of a cerebral player, pointing out assignments for his teammates and keeping others in check. He is a solid prospect himself, but it looks like he elevates those around him, too.

Smith is a versatile kid who can play both Safety or Cornerback with high ability. Showed off impressive closing speed in drills. After reviewing his film, he played Running Back on the offensive side of the ball during the regular season. Knowing that now, it’s obvious to see his vision and understanding of angles is advanced.
