Connor Jackson | Prep Redzone Scout
Clements has steadily gotten better over the last two years and has taken major strides forward physically. He has morphed from the youthful stages of his growth to a bigger, well-filled-out QB prospect. He also doubles as a productive baseball player, and you can see it in his arm talent. He has a compact, quick release and is a drive ball thrower. I think Clements has a chance to break out this fall, but he will have to do it against stiffer competition, which could be what finally gets his recruitment going.

There’s been so much growth for Clements over the last 18 months, both physically and as an operator. I’ve seen it up close several times, and this kid can really spin it. He is a baseball player with a quick, clean, explosive delivery. Different levels of touch and trajectory are littered on tape, but the fact is, this kid can touch each part of the field and continues to show marked improvements. With two years of development ahead of him, plus his physical traits, it feels like a matter of time before some recruiting buzz gets going here.

for a while now, and he continues to make marked improvements both as an athlete and as a passer. Doubles as a baseball player, and he can really drive the ball with velocity. I am looking to see him grow more nuance in his game and continue to improve ahead of his junior season. His junior season could be a big one for him.

Clements’ growth over the last year or so has been fun to watch. He is a baseball athlete and has always had some natural zip on the ball, confirmed by multiple in-person exposures. Now, his size and traits are starting to come along. He is listed at 6’2 195, built well into that frame, and has enough mass to remain durable against contact. Being tough helps too. He can push the ball vertically and works well on the move. He is fearless with the ball and has the arm to touch different levels. The next step in his development is to refine a bit down the field and get a better feel for trajectory. As far as drive ball throwing is concerned, I have always liked Clements, and he has another 2 and a half seasons ahead of him to continue refining.

continues to look better and better every time I see him. This weekend, I thought it was the best he looked physically. It’s clear he has taken some strides forward, physique-wise, and looks like a different prospect than I saw this winter. Clements has a compact, clean throwing motion and can really drive the ball. He brings over some natural arm strength from his baseball background. Similarly to Kenneff, his best ball was right there with every other QB in camp.

, a guy who doubles as a baseball player, threw the ball with some life and stood out with his twitch and explosiveness. I am expecting him to test towards the top of the group in several major categories. Clements has an energetic, aggressive throwing motion and can generate some heat in the short areas. He is explosive in the hips and has a tight coiling delivery, all things that allow the ball to jump out of his hand. He keeps his head steady as well. His ability to generate rotational energy and fire the ball with a tight, low trajectory impressed me when making short and intermediate area throws. You can trust him to fit the ball into tight windows.
