Expert Analysis
Connor Jackson | Prep Redzone Scout
Schettini is one of the best self-made prospects in GA, breaking onto the radar almost purely with just his production. It is refreshing to watch, and he has emerged as one of the best at the position in the 2028 class. He has a low center of gravity, twitchy in the short areas, and burns sub-11 in the 100M. He is a well-covered player for us here in GA, and at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I will just be quiet and ask that you watch the tape here to understand the intrigue.

Schettini is someone who did very well just a season ago, as he was second among all running backs in the class of 2028 inside the state of Georgia when it comes to rushing yards. He finished with nearly 1,500 yards and is by far one of the better players in the class when it comes to running the ball. If he continues to grow as a prospect, he will be someone who finds his way to college on a scholarship, as he is someone I view as a top prospect. Schettini is someone everyone needs to keep an eye out for when it comes to the 2026 high school football season.

Schettini is one of the best 2028 RBs in Georgia, and he has produced like it early on in his career. He is well-covered by us here at Prep Redzone, so here’s a look at my most recent write-up of his from this past fall:
“Schettini has been the engine offensively for Northgate this year and continues to develop into one of the best 2028 backs in Georgia. He holds his frame with a low center of gravity and stout legs. His foot speed and short-area twitch are impressive, helping him jump around chaos in congested areas and search for open grass. Schettini is a sub-11 runner in the 100M and a school record holder, so once he finds grass, he can lift off. Schettini has an argument to be the biggest breakout RB in the state this fall, and it’s a matter of time before he generates major recruiting attention.”

About 40 minutes outside of Atlanta is where you’ll find one of the state’s top backs in the 2028 class. Woody Schettini Woody Schettini 5'9" | 175 lbs | RB Northgate | 2028 State GA is coming off a really strong freshman season in 2024 and has started his sophomore season even better. In a week one win over Stars Mill, the speedy back from Newnan ran for 252 yards and three touchdowns on just 13 carries. He’s a threat to score anytime he has the ball due to his quickness, sudden running style, and breakaway speed. He’s one of the more elusive backs in the 2028 class and should continue to run wild for the rest of the upcoming season. He’s currently ranked as the No. 8 RB prospect in the state for his class.

Schettini helped will Northgate to a season-opening thrilling win over Starr’s Mill 27-21. Schettini took the rock 13 times for 252 yards (1) and 3 TDs. Schettini is starting to fill into his frame and is up to 185 now. He holds that weight on a cut frame. He is a scrappy back who is more twitchy than he is fast, although he can consistently break off big runs. His feet work quickly, and he looks to process chaos well. Schettini is still underrated, but won’t be for long if he continues to perform like he did to kick off his sophomore season.

A shifty, explosive back from the Newnan area who ran like a seasoned veteran last yeart, Schettini is a quick, agile back who was tough to corral last season as a freshman. In just five games, the talented back ran for 414 yards and four touchdowns. However, most of his damage was done in just two games. The impressive freshman ran for 164 yards and two touchdowns in a loss to Newnan before running for 170 yards and one touchdown in a win over Banneker. He’s a gifted runner who could have a giant sophomore season in 2025. His stock is on the rise and he was an easy addition to the latest Prep Redzone rankings. He’s now ranked as the No. 45 overall prospect in the state for the 2028 class.

An electric back with impressive change of direction and natural speed, Schettini only played in five games last year but showed big-play ability when given then ball, rushing for 414 yards and four touchdowns, hitting the 100-yard mark twice. The big-play freshman ran for 164 yards and two touchdowns against Newnan and 170 yards and one touchdown in his final game against Banneker. He’s one of the top young backs in the area, and if he can stay healthy, should be in store for a massive sophomore season this fall.
