About Lael
Expert Analysis
Tyler Stevens | Prep Redzone Scout
Lael is a monster of a man. He’s able to fill gaps with his size and power. He can beat double blocks and still take away lanes with his length. He’s got good burst and can drive the pocket back as a pass rusher. He’s a much better athlete than you would think for a man his size. Lael was an All-ECC honorable mention.

Lael played great as a Sophomore in 2024. His outstanding play helped the Winton Woods Warriors to a 10-win season where they held opposing offenses to 8.5 points per game and advanced to the 2nd round of the playoffs. He plays as a NT. Against the pass, he uses his excellent play strength to easily overpower the C before disengaging and moves well in pursuit before finishing up with a sack. Against the run, he quickly disengages and locates the RB before making the tackle behind the LOS for a TFL.

Lael had a very good Freshman season in 2023 where he played on varsity. He lines up at DT. Against the pass, he shows good burst and uses his very good play strength to quickly disengage from the OG. He plays with a very good motor in pursuit forcing the QB to pass the ball earlier than anticipated leading to an incomplete pass. Against the run, he uses his very good physical toughness to easily overpower the OG. He plays with good range and instincts in pursuit before making the tackle behind the LOS for a TFL outside the tackle box.

. Jones is a promising big man joining the Warriors program this fall and stands a thick 6-foot-2 and 275 pounds. He has played tackle on both sides of the ball throughout his pre-high school career, but I think defensive tackle and offensive guard look to be best places for him going forward at this point.
