Jaylen had a great Freshman season in 2023. His great play helped the Winton Woods Warriors to an 8-win season where they held opposing offenses to 8.75 points per game and advanced to the 2nd round of the playoffs. He plays as an EDGE. Against the run, he is quick off the ball and uses his very good athleticism to penetrate the LOS. He quickly locates the RB and shows good range and instincts in pursuit before making the tackle behind the LOS for a TFL. Against the pass, he shows good burst and defeats the OT block with his very good combination of athleticism and play strength. He plays with a great motor in pursuit before finishing up with a sack.
Andrew played very well as a Freshman in 2023 playing on the Freshman and Junior Varsity teams of the Lakota West Firebirds. He plays predominantly as an OLB. Against the pass, he quickly penetrates the LOS and shows very good play speed in pursuit. He finishes up by delivering a big hit to the QB forcing a fumble. Against the run, he shows very good football intelligence as he keys and diagnoses the play. He shows good range and instincts in pursuit as he takes good angles. He plays with good form before making the tackle near the LOS preventing a gain of significant yardage.
Highlights
Quinn played great as a Freshman in 2023. He plays as a C. While run blocking, he fires out low and displays good use of hands and very good play strength as he drives the DT several yards off the ball with ease creating a lane for the RB. In pass pro, he plays with a good base and shows great hand use as he wins battles with his hands inside and uses his great play strength as he negates the progress of the DT and gives the QB more time to pass the ball. He exhibits very good mental toughness as he elevates his play near the goal line.
Highlights
Cooper played great as a Freshman in 2023. He caught 74 passes for 1861 yds (25.1 ypc) and scored 19 TD. He shows great versatility as he lines up at both outside WR positions as well as in the slot. He is quick off the LOS and does a great job of reading the coverage. He then uses his very good play speed to get behind CB on vertical routes. He tracks the ball well in the air before using his very good hands to make the catch. After the catch is made, he uses his excellent athleticism to outrun all defenders and score on a long touchdown reception.
Lael had a very good Freshman season in 2023 where he played on varsity. He lines up at DT. Against the pass, he shows good burst and uses his very good play strength to quickly disengage from the OG. He plays with a very good motor in pursuit forcing the QB to pass the ball earlier than anticipated leading to an incomplete pass. Against the run, he uses his very good physical toughness to easily overpower the OG. He plays with good range and instincts in pursuit before making the tackle behind the LOS for a TFL outside the tackle box.
