has been a name that has been at the top or near the top of the DL ranks in the state’s 2027 class since we started ranking this class. Golston is a name that we knew about when he was a freshman and his stock has only continued to raise over the last few years. Last season, we got a chance to watch Golston in person for the first time in the fall and he lived up to expectations. He’s a ferocious defender that is an automatic double-team from opposing offensive linemen. Especially considering the level of play, where he’s going against offensive linemen that he has a distinct size advantage. But even with opponents throwing two guys his way, he still finds a way to impact the play and even beat double teams to live in the backfield.

is one of the state’s top overall prospects in the 2027 class. Similar to his older brother Kenny, he’s been considered one of the best in his class since his freshman season and nothing has really changed. He’s earned offers from major programs and he’s turned into one of the top prospects in this region. Last season, Golston finished the year with over 50 tackles, including ten for a loss and he also had nine sacks. Golston is a mauler on the line of scrimmage but he is very underrated as an overall athlete and can be used in a variety of ways.
(2024 All State Honorable Mention)

has been an absolute monster at the Class 2A level for a while now and a menace on the defensive line. Golston was another example of a 2027 prospect that earned the attention of D1 programs early on in his career. His older brother is one of the top 2026 prospects in the state and just committed to Idaho so maybe we end up seeing the younger Golston end up with the Vandals as well but only time will tell. Whoever lands Golston is getting a disruptive player in the middle of a defense. Anytime we’ve watched him on film or in person, he’s giving opposing offensive lines a ton of problems. He’s been a name to know for a while now and nothing is changing as he prepares for his junior season in high school.

Down in southeastern Oklahoma, we have another monster prospect growing along the line of scrimmage. Valliant’s

is starting to really blow up on the recruiting trail and that’s not entirely surprising after watching him in person a handful of times. The first thing that stands out when you catch Golston in person is the overall athleticism, combined with his size. A guy Golston’s size shouldn’t be able to move with the fluidity and explosiveness that Golston has showcased over the last two years. And like we’ve mentioned, he’s starting to blow up on the recruiting trail and because of that shouldn’t come as a surprise considering those main traits. We’ve seen Golston in person a handful of times and coincidentally, the majority of those times, he’s been a “tight end” in various 7v7 tournaments. His upside is off the charts and is on the shortlist for the overall class.

when it comes to this class. Golston is another 2027 prospect that has been having a significant impact since he was a freshman. We wrote about Golston a few times this offseason because he was actually showcasing his athleticism on the 7v7 circuit. We got a chance to watch him in person and with the pads on back in the spring and once again, he passed the eye test. So Valliant might not get as much pub as some of the other programs in the major metro areas but Golston definitely belongs in the top ten and he’s a defensive lineman that has a lot of the traits to be a dominant prospect. Golston is an absolute force and really tough to deal with for opposing offensive linemen trying to slow him down.

to dominate the defensive side of the ball. While we watched the older brother this offseason, we also saw the younger brother make a name for himself. And we say “younger” and not “little” because there’s nothing little about Kyng. He is an absolute force on the line of scrimmage and he looks like a guy that is so advanced for his age from a move and technique standpoint. He already has a deep bag of moves that he uses to completely disarm the offensive line. Kyng is also a very underrated athlete and can do multiple things at a high level.

is the other one in the 2027 class. We watched Golston quite a bit this offseason on the 7v7 circuit but that doesn’t do much for evaluating a defensive lineman other than seeing how athletic he is compared to some guys that are much smaller than him. We finally got our eyes on Golston with the pads on in May and he was a force on the line of scrimmage. What we like about him is the advanced skillset where he can beat opponents in a variety of ways.

Do not overlook what’s happening in southeastern Oklahoma because there are some absolute ballers down there and Valliant has two of them and they’re from the same family tree. 2027 defensive lineman

is the younger brother of Kenny, who’s a highly ranked 2026 running back in the state. The younger brother, and we do say younger and not little, Kyng is the next up at Valliant and is already earning the attention of college coaches. Golston already looks the part and after seeing him on tape and in person this past weekend running around in a 7v7 tournament, it’s hard not to have him near the top of the class. Golston is right there with Bixby’s Penny in terms of 2027 “monsters” in the trenches.
