Kevin had an outstanding Senior season in 2023. His very good play helped the Olentangy Braves to an 11-win season where they held opposing offenses to 19.3 points per game and advanced to the 3rd round of the playoffs. He plays as a DE. Against the pass, he shows solid quickness off the ball and exhibits good play strength as he disengages from the OT. He plays with a good motor in pursuit and forces the QB to pass the ball earlier than anticipated leading to an incomplete pass. Against the run, he shows excellent quickness and agility as he penetrates the LOS and locates the RB before making the tackle behind the LOS for a TFL.

Playing alongside a number of talented players, Porter stepped up in week one to make stops and get after the quarterback. Comes off the edge hard with strength to overwhelm offensive tackles. Has the ability to read blocks to fight against them to plug up holes. He has the patience to see where the play is headed and attack at small openings against linemen. Has good closing speed to attack plays run to the opposite play side. Relies on his strength to get off blocks, but has the quickness to pull off spin moves. Is a player that can’t be overlooked along a talented defensive line to show the true strength of the Braves defense.
