Expert Analysis

Freeman is a freakish athlete who is a matchup nightmare on the outside. As a junior, he built on a promising 2024 campaign, catching 31 passes for 560 yards and six touchdowns. He showcased a more complete skill set last season, showing he’s not just a jump ball receiver, but that he can run a well-rounded route tree and excel after the catch.

North Carolina has produced a number of tall, athletic receivers who have trouble with the other aspects of playing receiver, like getting open and catching the ball. The 6’5″ Freeman has no trouble in those latter categories, as he’s seemingly always open out of his breaks and is a threat after the catch. With his athletic profile and his ability at the catch point, he’s an intriguing FBS prospect.

, a 6’3″ wideout from Northern Nash, is a rising D1 prospect who picked up an offer from Toledo this offseason. While he finished last year with just 20 receptions, he made them count — four went for touchdowns. Now entering his junior season, Freeman is poised for a breakout year. He’ll kick things off with a statement opportunity, opening the season against J.H. Rose — the very team that ended his playoff run last fall.

in single coverage. The first thing that stands out when you turn on his film is his size-at 6’3 to 6’4, Freeman is one of the biggest targets on the outside.
But he’s not just big-he’s polished. Freeman has an excellent release off the line, especially impressive for a receiver his size, and enough top-end speed to stack defenders and win on fade routes. His combination of size, skill, and physicality makes him nearly unguardable in isolation.
Freeman is a true mismatch-and he’s only getting better.

Kamren went from being unranked to inside of our Top 100 in our rankings, and taking a look at the film, he shows some excellent traits to be a dominant “X” type of receiver on the outside for his team’s offense. Kamren routinely beats single coverage with good releases versus press coverage. In off-man coverage, Kamren shows excellent speed to close the cushion and then get behind corners in the secondary. Kamren does a good job of stemming his routes to allow the quarterback to consistently place the ball away from safeties on downfield routes. Kamren shows strong hands at the catch point and shows a good ability to make contested catches in traffic. Kamren isn’t a finished product by any means, but his traits and physical profile really put him in a good position to continue trending up where his best football is ahead of him.
