Jenkins’ inclusion this high on this list is especially impressive given his age. We saw him last summer at a PRZ Showcase and were impressed. But there’s only so much we could glean from a camp setting. Once the games started, it was obvious that he now only belonged at the varsity level, but could star there.

When we saw Jenkins in camp last year, we were impressed, but what he did this season as a starting center was on an entirely different level. He added a bunch of good weight, and it showed on Friday’s. From what we could tell, he had no issue with his snaps, and he’s a powerful run blocker. It’s not just that Jenkins played as a freshman; it’s that he was critical to Northern Nash’s offensive success.

We really liked Jenkins when we saw him in offseason camp, and to be honest, we missed that he was playing well on varsity. Then we dove into the film and realized he takes things to a different level on Friday nights. He’s playing center, a rarity at his age, and he’s not only blocking well, but also helping with protections and anchoring the offensive line.

The freshman phenom lived up to the hype. Jenkins dominated in the trenches, leading the way on counter plays and finishing blocks through the whistle. His technique, strength, and motor stood out against a veteran Hunt front, showing why he’s already viewed as one of the best young linemen in the region.

We’ve seen Jenkins at multiple Prep Redzone North Carolina camps, but as the season started, we missed that he’s starting at center at Northern Nash. He already has great size and can fire off the ball, but he’s snapping the ball well, too. He’s not just starting on varsity, but playing well, and he’s putting himself in position to play his way into the rankings.

Going by the nickname “Big Country”, Jenkins did a really nice job for the North Carolina Future Stars. Primarily a tackle on both sides of the ball, he did a good job using his 6-foot, 250-pound size to hold up a much smaller South Carolina line. To put the final nail in the coffin in North Carolina’s win over South Carolina, he achieved every lineman’s dream and punched in a one-yard touchdown run too.
