from Donovan Catholic has committed to the University of Illinois. The 6’4”, 260-pound tackle was once ranked Prep Rezone’s No. 1 player in New Jersey. He brings strong pass protection, great feet, and high-level strength. Pritchard chose the Illini over Penn State, Syracuse, and West Virginia.

, the 6’5”, 270-pound tackle from Donovan Catholic, earns the Best Run Blocker superlative in the 2026 class. Two key traits separate him from the rest: leverage and aggressiveness.
Pritchard has some of the best pad levels in his class. He consistently stays low, maximizes power on first contact, and drives defenders off the ball. He also moves well in space, quickly reaching the second level and handling blocks on the move. His ability to maintain leverage throughout reps makes him a nightmare for defenders trying to shed blocks.
Beyond technique, his mentality sets him apart. Pritchard plays with relentless aggression, finishes blocks with authority, and always looks for extra work. Once he dominates his initial assignment, he hunts for more, delivering pancake after pancake. That nasty streak makes him a true enforcer in the run game.
Pritchard has narrowed his recruitment to five schools: Rutgers, Tennessee, Illinois, Penn State, and Boston College. His physicality and motor should make him a valuable addition to any of those programs.

Kai Pritchard’s standout trait lies in his exceptional ability to maintain low pad level, particularly evident in his run blocking. Despite his imposing size at 6’5” and 275 pounds, Pritchard impressively fires off the ball with speed and remains low, allowing him to execute blocks effectively and with significant power. His proficiency in generating power from his lower body enables him to deliver impactful initial contact, setting the tone for successful run plays. Moreover, Pritchard’s adeptness at maintaining leverage and pad level extends to his blocking on the second level, where he effectively engages with linebackers. While he excels in this aspect of his game, there is potential for further development, particularly in maximizing opportunities for him to utilize his athleticism and blocking prowess in open space situations. As Pritchard continues to refine his skills and expand his repertoire, he is poised to emerge as a formidable force on the offensive line, showcasing his standout trait of maintaining exceptional pad level and leverage in blocking situations.

lined up as a tackle in 2022 and is a man that can hold his own. He keeps his pads low and can deliver the run block from a lower position than the defender can get. He’s also great at moving onto the second level to continue his run block downfield. Kai also has experience pulling, which may set him up to play guard as well in the future. He is quick off of the ball, and can turn defenders shoulders around to create massive holes for the runner. Maybe the most polished O lineman in the NJ 2026 class, get ready to hear more about Kai this fall.

. At 6’4″ 260lbs Pritchard patrols the trenches (and also the hardwood) for the Griffins.
As any dominant OT needs to, Pritchard merks defenders when he down blocks. He absolutely pummels down-linemen, flattening them in the process. Perhaps ahead of his age, we see this young, emerging lineman keeping his eyes up on double teams and seal the second level. As Pritchard does this more consistently, college coaches will drool when they watch his film. I noticed that Pritchard’s first step seems to always be correct as well. This gives him an immediate advantage with his body sealing off angles. Pritchard also pulls very well. He gets to the point of attack quickly and keeps his head on a swivel, looking for the first inside threat. For Pritchard to continue his ascension to become the best lineman in the 2026 class, needs to drive block with a consistent base and grab the defender’s chest plate. Doing these two things will enable him to completely take the defender for a ride with himself in the driver’s seat.
“Calhoun carries to the right, cuts off the down block by Pritchard, cracking down on the LB is Genera… and he scores!” Might be a play-by-play call we hear early and often over the next three seasons.
