There wasn’t an official award for arm strength, but when they had the QB’s test their distance, nobody threw the rock further than

. His longest attempt was 66 yards, as West possesses a true cannon of an arm. West also looked real good in the “Hot Potato” drill. That portion of the challenge tested quick release and West got rid of the ball very fast and efficiently. He started off a little slow in the first 2 challenges but he bounced back big time throughout the contest. He might’ve not finished in the top 3 but he wasn’t far behind.

multiple times, he was one of the top players at both the Suffolk County Showcase and the Downstate Classic. He’s made huge improvements from his junior year and I believe he belongs in the conversation with Long Island’s top quarterbacks. West has an absolute cannon of an arm. He can throw lasers into tight spaces and his timing has been good. I’m in favor of him having a breakout senior year and he’s a must watch player in person.

as the top QB at the event. I really loved the footwork West had during his reps. He was poised and strung together a solid amount of completions due to superior ball placement. West showcased a nice touch on his throws and also had some great velocity on his passes.

Arguably the top player of the day. In a rainy atmosphere, it didn’t bother West in the slightest. He threw a ton of terrific passes and was the most accurate QB out of the group. What impressed me about West was his velocity on his throws. He has a cannon and he immediately stood out from the rest of the quarterbacks with how quick his passes got to his receivers. He was very polished throughout the showcase and has showed incredible improvement from his junior year.
