C Metzger Suffolk County Chapter QB Challenge here on Long Island, it was Jeremy Weiss Jeremy Weiss 6'4" | 195 lbs | QB Commack | 2024 State NY winning the title. He’s back to defend his championship as he’ll compete against 15 other amazing quarterbacks this year. There are awards for accuracy, football IQ, anticipation and an overall skills champion. Here are the next 8 quarterbacks that will be competing.
One of the best pure athletes on Long Island. Outlaw dominated in both the football and baseball season this past year and he truly has an incredible arm. Outlaw can sling it and he also has a beautiful touch on his passes. One of the best parts of his game is his running ability. He makes people miss in the open field a ton. Outlaw has started since his freshman year and he’s one of the top 2025 QB’s on the island. He’ll be fun to watch during this quarterback challenge.
Another excellent quarterback from Suffolk County. Last year he easily had one of the most exciting arms on Long Island. Pepitone threw some incredible deep balls all throughout his junior year. I’m looking forward to seeing his arm strength next to the other top QB’s in Suffolk County. Pepitone had a ton of zip on his passes and he was one of the main reasons why Connetquot had a dangerous team in a very difficult division.
Highlights
One of my favorite quarterbacks of the summer so far, Rocco Ranoine has been playing terrific throughout the camp circuit. His timing has been excellent, as it looked like he was always on the same page with his receivers. He’s athletic and has a cannon of an arm. I’m intrigued to see how he does in the accuracy and anticipation drills, he’s a player who can make a statement at an event like this. Look out for the Holy Trinity product.
Fresh off of receiving his first offer from Lockhaven University, Stahl has found his groove all summer. He looked amazing at a Prep Redzone event in May and he’s continued to impress at 7v7’s and the Downstate Classic. He put up ridiculous numbers during his junior year, Stahl threw for over 2,600 yards and 30 touchdowns last season. In this competition last year, he won the accuracy competition due to his amazing ball placement. Stahl is in a pass heavy offense with great receivers, he’ll be a boomer award candidate and potentially a Hansen award candidate as well.
Jayden Taylor
Jayden Taylor
The lefty quarterback has a breakout season written all over him heading into his senior season. He has a good arm and he’s going to form a lethal connection with wide receiver J.D Harrison. He showed a bunch of flashes last season with some terrific throws. I’m looking to see how consistent Taylor is in this quarterback challenge, he has a high ceiling and potential to make noise in these drills.
A major candidate for not only the Boomer award but the Hansen award as well. He had a monster junior season for the Golden Flashes, as he led them to a perfect 12-0 record and a Long Island Championship. Tripptree was an easy All State selection with over 2,000 yards and 30 touchdowns, and keep in mind he got subbed out most games well before they were over. He has good size and a great arm. Tripptree’s timing and ball placement is on an elite level; he’s earned several FCS offers this summer.

“The Champ is here”. The gunslinger from Commack won the competition last year and he’ll be looking to defend his title during this event. Weiss has prototype size at 6’4 and a terrific arm. Last year not only did Weiss win the overall championship but he won the football IQ award. Weiss displayed his smarts on the field for Commack throughout his junior year. He made some highlight reel throws in some big moments. Weiss is the type of quarterback to make everyone around him better. Everybody will have to tune in to see if he successfully defends his title.
I’ve seen Kaeden West Kaeden West 6’1″ | 160 lbs | QB Comsewogue | 2024 State NY multiple times, he was one of the top players at both the Suffolk County Showcase and the Downstate Classic. He’s made huge improvements from his junior year and I believe he belongs in the conversation with Long Island’s top quarterbacks. West has an absolute cannon of an arm. He can throw lasers into tight spaces and his timing has been good. I’m in favor of him having a breakout senior year and he’s a must watch player in person.
