Jude James is a player that has high expectations this season. To start his senior year, he had some impressive moments. He showed versatility on offense, showing the ability to line up at both receiver and tight end. James showed impressive route running ability, using smooth breaks in his routes to create separation. He also showed the speed to break away from the defense after the catch. James finished the game with one receiving touchdown. He also played a key role on defense at safety, showing the ability to fill the lane and make tackles against the run. Jude is committed to Missouri where I think he has the potential to develop into a productive player for them once he gets there.

Jude had over 500 yards as a receiver and 100+ tackles as a defensive back, so I would say versatile is an understatement. Jude holds seventeen offers with the most recent one coming from Mizzou. Watch out for Jude to receive even more offers before it comes time to decide where to go to college.

Aligning as the deepest defender in the secondary, Jude shows next level range quickly processing and pursuing play action passes targeting the flat with speed & tenacity. Good power and acceleration shows knocking out targeted receivers underneath. Size, strength, and good hand technique in the run game allow Jude to play a hybrid safety position at the next level.

He plays a key role on both sides of the ball for Francis Howell. On offense, James is a very dangerous deep threat on the outside. Last season, he caught 27 passes for 584 yards and six touchdowns. James has the athleticism to go up and catch passes at their highest point and the speed to make big plays after the catch. He also scored one rushing touchdown last season. James is also a very skilled safety on defense, finishing his junior year with 119 tackles, one fumble recovery, and four interceptions. He is a ballhawk in the secondary, showing the ability to read the quarterback and break on the ball with perfect timing to come away with an interception. Jude holds several Division I offers and I expect more to come his way as he is a truly special talent.

A wide receiver and safety listed at 6-4 and 200 pounds, James has had a good offseason as he’s picked up two early scholarship offers from Miami (Ohio) and Southeast Missouri State. James was the Vikings’ leading receiver a year ago as a sophomore — ahead of big-time Division I tight end prospect Brett Norfleet Brett Norfleet 6'7" | 240 lbs | TE Francis Howell | 2023 State MO , a Missouri commitment — with 32 receptions for 634 yards and nine touchdowns. He averaged 19.8 yards per catch. With his combination of size, speed and athleticism, it will be interesting to see which position James ultimately ends up playing. He could move to tight end or linebacker down the line with added weight. James moves up from No. 82 to No. 14 overall.
