Josiah Gibbons Josiah Gibbons 5'11" | 175 lbs | RB Brunswick | 2027 State GA plays his role in what is a highly prolific RB duo at Brunswick, averaging over 12 yards a carry. Gibbons is a loose athlete with room to pack on weight. He glides across the field, skating in and out of running lanes. He does a great job of accelerating to his top speed and maintaining it through breaks and long distances, allowing him to outlast tacklers and lift off from the defense. The 5’11 175 RB is another rising Junior in the Pirate backfield that has a chance to have a huge breakout season in 2025. He averaged over 10 yards per carry in ’24 on just 52 attempts and is sure to see his work load increase this Fall. Tall powerful runner with good vision that can change direction on a dime. Is physical enough to break through arm tackles and has the open field speed to out run the defense.

Gibbons size and speed have already caught the attention of National Scouts with WVU, Kennesaw State and Liberty among the handful of D1 programs that have extended an offer. Having to split carries between these two RBs is a problem a lot of teams wished that had.

A slippery back from Southeast Georgia who can change directions on a dime, Gibbons is a craft runner who is tough to stop in the open field. He brings excellent speed, burst, and does a great job of sliding through defenders. He’s tough to corral and really opened some eyes on the area this past season as a sophomore. The 5-foot-11 175-pounder from Brunswick ran for 528 yards and 8 touchdowns and should be even better next fall in year three. He’s one of the more promising backs in the region, scoring a touchdown in every game but four last year. Look for him to get more carries and see a new Prep Redzone ranking this spring.
