A sleeper defensive back to know in Southeast Georgia, Rankin is a playmaking defender with consistent hands and ball skills. He’s still developing and improving his coverage, but he’s shown he can make a big play on a poorly thrown ball in his direction. He shows above-average athleticism, plays the ball well in the air, and just has a knack for making plays. Rankin was one of the most productive 2027 defensive backs in the Brunswick area last fall, picking off five passes in coverage while making 49 tackles. He can play both the run and the pass at a high level and is in store for a strong senior season in 2026.

Rankin is one of the most hidden gems in the state of Georgia out of Brunswick High School. He is someone who has quickly become a top ball-hawk in the state and has been one of the state’s best players as a whole. He is someone who brings solid size and has quick hips. One of my favorite defensive backs in the state of Georgia. Rankin is someone who I believe will be a fast riser, and I have him valued as a future college guy. Rankin playing safety is already one thing, but his ability to play cornerback, especially in press… I’m a HUGE fan.
