About Josiah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Aggressive, physical, and instinctive. I play downhill fast, make strong tackles in space, and read plays quickly. I’m confident in run support, but also patient and aware in coverage. I play with high effort and a chip on my shoulder — the kind of DB who sets the tone on defense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I play with a fearless mindset. I’m competitive, coachable, and always looking to get better. I don’t back down from challenges and take pride in doing the dirty work that helps my team win.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Outside of football, I stay focused on my academics and help out around school and in my community when I can. I haven’t gotten any major non-sport awards yet, but I take pride in being dependable and setting a good example for others.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through football, I’ve developed strong leadership and teamwork skills. I’ve learned how to communicate, hold teammates accountable, and stay focused under pressure. I also give back by helping younger players and setting a good example on and off the field.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One challenge I’ve faced is being overlooked early on in my career. I had to prove myself through hard work, consistency, and staying focused even when things didn’t go my way. It taught me to stay humble, patient, trust the process, and always keep grinding.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that feels like family, basically a program that pushes me to grow both on the field and in the classroom. I want coaches who believe in developing players and teammates who are hungry to win.

Bedford doesn’t have the elite size of some of the other safeties in the class of 2027, but he was extremely opportunistic and isn’t afraid to stick his head down in the running game. Bedford got better as the season progressed and looks like a guy who could continue to ascend our list.
