Last year in this series, Wedderburn was the inexperienced, high-upside pick. Now, he’s simply one of my favorite offensive linemen in the county. While I thought he might kick out to tackle this season, he played a lot of right guard, flashing elite strength as a run blocker and consistent physicality, even in pass protection.

We initially ranked Wedderburn off of a handful of plays we saw from his freshman year when evaluating the film of one of his running backs. As a sophomore, his technique, strength, and balance all improved, and he became a more well-rounded tackle prospect. He was rewarded with All-Conference honors and looks like a potential elite prospect if he continues to develop.

Wedderburn flew way under the radar and I only found him on the film of a couple of his running backs. That’s a great sign, when you’re good enough to stand out on other people’s film. Wedderburn is a huge, powerful run blocker who looks like he has the footwork and hips to develop into an above average pass-blocker as well.

Wedderburn actually came to my attention when he stood out on the tape of a couple of skill position players in Overhills’ offense. A massive interior lineman, Wewdderburn’s pure power is still catching up to his size, but he has the profile of a future star at guard. He’s young, with plenty to learn, but he’s on a strong trajectory. He recently put up some decent numbers for his age and size at the Carolinas Coaching Combine and I’m excited to see him progress.
