Rick Trower has been making plays for the Jaguars for what feels like forever, and now the rising senior linebacker is ready for his biggest season yet. At 5-foot-11, 200 pounds, Trower brings a physical presence to the defense and is one of the leaders of the unit. He excels in run support, attacking downhill and filling gaps with authority, while also showing the ability to drop into coverage and make plays against the pass. His experience, toughness, and football IQ make him a key piece of Overhills’ defense heading into the 2026 season.

Trower went the route of watchlist-to-ranked in our midseason update, which is one of the easiest ways to know a player made an early impact. Trower is a tackling machine who lives around the football, and the switch from two-way player to a primary linebacker really helped his development. The Overhills defense was a really solid unit last season, largely due to Trower’s impact.
