An absurd height/length/frame/speed combination coming out of one of Minnesota’s most elite producers of college football talent; I’m not sure what I’m missing here with Jayden Meister Jayden Meister 6'6" | 180 lbs | ATH/DB Marshall | 2027 State MN ‘s lack of D1 attention. Tell me if you’ve heard this one before, but this standout football player is also. a good hooper, as Meister runs with the SW MN Stars on the AAU circuit and Marshall during the winter. The kid absolutely tore up the South Dakota State Prospect Camp #1 last summer as well, coming in 6’6.25, 185 lbs. with 33.25″ arms. and clocking a 4.85 40, 4.78 shuttle, and 8’8 broad jump.
The tape looks strong too, as the kid can change direction and utilize small-area movements and quickness in coverage, as well as when evading blocks, that flash the basketball background and some exciting body control for his size. He created some of the biggest hits in 2027 class. Has a massive collision around 3:45 into his highlight tape that is one of the most impressive in the class, and is overall a physical cut tackler and can lay the boom at the contact point. Meister is a productive and instinctive zone coverage defender who can see and trigger on route concepts as they develop in real time, and he does have some reps of him pressing, flipping his hips, melting into the WR’s hip pocket, and showing proper eye discipline while flashing sticky coverage skills and ability.
Plus, Meister demonstrates contact balance, nimble feet, and noticeable burst after the catch as a WR, as well as the deep speed to take the top off the defense and win vertically, excellent ball skills, and strength when going up and playing the ball in the air. He plays a little high, but looks very strong for his age and size. Given the sheer aggression he shows as a tackler, and most of his best flashes on his junior tape are him at the contact point, either offensively or defensively, as well as the ball skills, so I’m comfortable saying that the the game screams LB at the next level. I’m surprised more college coaches don’t want to work with this big ball of clay right now!

, Marshall’s 2027 DB/WR Jayden Meister is one of the best kept secrets in Minnesota’s junior class right now. Coming in at a verified 6’6, 175+, Meister put up quite an athletic performance at one of SDSU’s prospect camps last fall, and although he missed a significant amount of 2025 due to a lower body injury, Meister’s tape from his junior season is still memorable, to say the least. A 6’6 cornerback surely sears an imprint into a scout’s brain, and Meister looks ridiculously long on tape – Slenderman-long in fact, and the Marshall/SW Minnesota Stars hooper comes in at #91 in the PrepHoops 2027 Rankings, despite missing his junior hoops season to injury.
Meister, at least on the gridiron, is still a bit raw, and I can’t get a good read on his bendiness or ability to weave and gain depth in his backpedal, as well as transition, though I know he’s not likely to play cornerback at the next level. However, there are reps of him man-turning and staying in the pocket of WRs working vertically, so I feel like he can turn it on when he needs to. Safety, if he can retain his speed post-injury, but linebacker seems like the obvious choice given the sheer amount of weight you can put on him in a college S&C and nutrition program.
The 6’6 standout is strong in the air, and his length and core strength help him high-point and not get bodied out of position when playing the ball in the air. Meister is a violent tackler who comes into contact with intention and physicality, and he also fights to stay upright and will scratch and claw to earn yardage with the ball in-hand. Meister is a smooth block defeater thanks to the length, quickness, and physicality, an effective pass disrupter out of zone coverages and zone reads/breaks, and displays great contact balance and burst after the catch. I’m sure the injury isn’t helping the offer come, so it looks like it may be a Summer Camp SZN performance to break Meister into the D1 category of prospects, so make sure you stay tuned with PRZMN!

I gotta credit my fellow scout and PRzDAK Director of Scouting Nate Wahl Nate Wahl 5'8" | 210 lbs | DL Big Lake | 2027 MN for this next find, and I’m pumped to report that we have another must-watch prospect out of the SW MN talent factory that is Marshall High School. Meister is the unicorn 6’6 DB I have always dreamt about, and even if he’s a couple inches off that reported measurement, you still have a DB in the top-tier, mouth-watering, eye-popping size department that scouts and college coaches fall head over heels over. Meister had a good showing in the Class 4A state semifinal game between Marshall and eventual champion Becker, catching the eye of PRzMN and igniting some serious search for more info on the potential big-time DB prospect.
Meister is also a good hooper for the Tigers, and the same thing that makes him so intriguing is also his biggest flaw right now, and that is that no one has any verified information on the Marshall product. However, his physical traits and ability are staring at you right in the face on tape, and it’s not hard to figure out that his athleticism and upside look up there with any other 2027 in the state. Meister displays decent bend for a taller CB who can gain depth in his backpedal, swivel and unlock his hips, and high-point the ball out of the air and right on top of a WR’s outstretched arms. He shows his top-end speed with a nice chase down of a loose Fairmont ball carrier as the last pursuer from his backside CB position, and is overall a lanky, eye-catchingly tall, long, and overwhelming 6’6ish corner. A ballhawk with a big catch radius – the second play of his sophomore tape sees him pluck a one-handed INT right out of the air like he had glue on his gloves. He demonstrates the speed to carry WRs deep, can track and play the deep ball while staying in a receiver’s hip pocket, and doesn’t waste steps in his backpedal and footwork. Meister can also attack and beat blocking attempts with proper leverage and is a good tackler out on the perimeter, and he does a good job of dropping and working under corner and deep routes as a zone defender and nabbed himself a couple INTs due to that capability. I am itching to see this Top Newcomer live and in person ASAP.
