JaKobe Bryant popped on my radar this offseason. In a world where interior pressure is so important, true NT prospects are always at a premium. Bryant has packed on some recruiting attention, and should pack on more this offseason. Here is my note from when I added him to my personal board:
“Pure NT frame/projection. Naturally equipped with brute strength. Hard to move and eventually shears off blocks. Good hand usage. Flashes of impressive SAQ. Will improve as he learns to protect his chest more. Holds FBS offers. One of the better pure NT projections in the state.”

JaKobe Bryant is a plugger in the middle of Houston County’s defense who is well-developed for his age. He is most recently listed at 6’1 298 and proves difficult to move on every snap. His presence alone is a lot to handle, clogging up running lanes and freeing up opportunities for his teammates. Bryant is a true NT projection, but he has solid pursuit skills and proves capable of getting off blocks. It could be a busy offseason for Bryant, who I believe is an FBS-caliber player.

Based off personality alone, Bryant was one of my personal favorites from the Future Stars Game week last month. He kept everyone loose and laughing throughout the week, but also knew when to shut up and play ball. At 6-foot and 250 pounds, he’s an active interior defensive lineman that can hold down two gaps with relative ease. Has some natural strength that allowed him to take on double teams and chip blocks without losing much ground. No official stats were kept for the game, but I had him in on double digit tackles in Georgia’s win over South Carolina and loss to Florida.

was dominant during the Future Stars camp. The Warner Robbins prospect finished each of his blocks in physical fashion. He was a player that loved the competition and enjoyed being on the field competing against some of the best Georgia has to offer. He showed good lateral movement in his pass sets with violent hands. Bryant has a very bright future.
