He has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, change of direction, and good jumping. Bourland ranges the deep zone and gives very good run support. Very good range prowling the field with ease. Very good tackling. In coverage, he has a good back pedal with very good closing quickness. He uses his athletic ability to be one of the first players to make a tackle. His hard-hitting ability caused a fumble, and his good catching allowed him to pluck the ball out of the air.
