During the 2025 season, Rice completed 127-of-228 passes for 1,281 yards, 11 touchdowns, and five interceptions.
Rice is a big-framed quarterback who plays with good calmness and control. At 6-4, 205, he already looks the part physically. He’s comfortable operating out of RPO looks and shotgun concepts. He doesn’t look rushed, and he lets plays develop instead of forcing things.
He stays steady when pressure shows up. There’s a rep where heat is coming off both edges, and he doesn’t panic. He keeps his eyes downfield and delivers the ball on a post-play downfield. The ball could’ve been led a little more, but the fact that he stayed in there and gave his guy a chance stands out.
Rice does a nice job putting the ball where it needs to be. The comeback to the right sideline is a good example. Jackson throws the football to the outside shoulder, a safe throw, only his receiver can get it. There’s another play where the tight end shot down the hash, and he drops the pass right over the linebacker’s head and into his teammate’s hands.
He’s not a run-around QB, but he moves well enough. There’s a play where he avoids a sack and runs for a few yards. Jackson isn’t looking to run very much. I do think he can work on being a little more mobile when it comes to using his legs to pick up yardage
Jackson’s got solid arm talent, especially when his base is right. The deep ball where he hits the receiver in stride (in his highlights) shows he can push it downfield. At times, the ball could come out with more juice, especially on sideline throws, and when he leans back or throws off his back foot. The passes end up floating a little bit.
He’s at his best when he’s able to get a rhythm. Jackson shows flashes of touch and timing. Cleaning up a few mechanical things will help him improve as a multi-level passer.
