This OL is going to be in for a battle, but they have the pieces to win a lot of those battles. Leading the way is senior center

. Jackson fits the center position very well. He has a strong anchor in pass protection, and is powerful in the run game. Modder can drive DTs out of lanes. He isn’t just a big, strong body. The senior can move laterally while giving help to his OGs, and can get up field. This OL placed as a unit when I watched them live. If they can continue that they will be sitting good.

. It was great watching Modder in person. I was able to watch and listen to him make the calls at the line for blocking adjustments and assignments. The play after the snap was just as solid too. In pass protection Jackson showed off a strong anchor to set a sound, protected point of the pocket. In the run game, Jackson showed power to move DL, range to reach or get to the second level, and he finished a lot of his blocks with that nasty mentality as he put kids in the dirt. This is a senior IOL to have on your radars.

The 6’1″ 284 lbs OL/DL was another athlete who stood out from the crowd. That has become less of a surprise the more I see Jackson. He has won an OL MVP at one of our PRZ WI Showcases, stood out when I attended one of his games last fall, and earned an offer from UW- River Falls following his camp performance. When the lights are bright Jack steps up. The center is a quick and agile prospect. He bursts out of his stance and gets himself in position on his man in the run game. He has the quick feet to move laterally with his man once he clamps onto them in pass protection. Lastly, Modder has the stoutness needed to hold the point of the pocket so it doesn’t collapse on his QB.

The 6’1″ 270 lbs OC should be on several D2-D3 programs’ radars. The center has a solid combination of mobility, flexibility, and strength. In the run game, Jackson is light on his feet. That allows him to reach defenders on the play side. Modder also impressed with his mobility and body control during the Prep Redzone WI winter showcase where he left with the OL MVP. Modder is in position to continue to rise up the rankings this fall. Keep an eye on the centerpiece of the ANHS OL.

Jackson came out to the PRZ WI Showcase and put together the best performance of the day. He has solid size, looked great in the one on one battles, and was the top testing performance of the position.
To dive into his standout performance check out my segment on him in the MVP article from the event right HERE. The junior OL is one to have on recruiting radars for next fall.

One of our four MVPs from Session I was the junior OL from Appleton North HS. The 6’2″ 275 lbs athlete had a great day and set himself apart from the crowd in all three areas of the Showcase. When I scout OL the first thing I look at is how they are put together. Does it look like they have room to continue to fill out? Do they need to re-comp their frame? Are they near the max for what their frame can hold effectively? Modder’s frame is what you want out of a HS lineman. He has good height and weight, but his frame carries it really well. Modder still has that athletic frame with room to continue to fill out telling me he has the ability to reach the size needed to play college football.
In drill work I started to see that not only does he have the frame to handle playing at a collegiate level, he also has the technique to be able to. Jackson stood out from the crowd during position work with his flexibility. The coaches were preaching that and the ability to play with a low pad level. Jackson made that look easy as he played with good flexibility in his ankles and knees.
That flexibility shown in the drills shined in the 1 on 1s. Thanks to that lower body flexibility Modder was able to play low while keeping his upper body square and strong. In 1 on 1s Jackson was able to get underneath his opponent, set his anchor. His strong anchor was another part of his game that stood out. He was able to stuff DL, and then use his lateral agility to slide and mirror them all while using good hand placement so he could maintain control. It was a great showing for the junior. He is going to be an OL to know.
