Senior Jack Jelinek Jack Jelinek DB Papillion-La Vista South | 2027 NE did a great job playing the safety spot for the Monarchs, patrolling the deep field from any big plays. His vision and football IQ allow him to read the defense and QBs’ eyes before sharply breaking on the ball. Jack displayed solid range, from being able to get downhill in a hurry to having the depth to defend deep passes or move sideline-to-sideline; he was usually in a good spot to make a play. He’s willing to get physical with receivers by getting his hands up to bat away passes. Jack played with quick feet and loose hips, which help him stick to his matchup in coverage. Hidden gem prospect with upside!

Freshman Jack Jelinek Jack Jelinek DB Papillion-La Vista South | 2027 NE emerged as a nice gem in the Papio South secondary, putting together a great season. Jack ended the year with 16 tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown as one of the Titan’s starting cornerbacks. I don’t have much film from Jack’s freshman year, but from the games I have seen, he shows good instincts and fluidity in coverage. Jelinek quickly flips his hips and can break on the ball very well. I’m looking forward to seeing more of Jack’s tape.
